16-68- And your Lord taught the honey bee to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men’s) habitations;
16-69- Then to eat of all the produce (of the earth), and find with skill the spacious paths of its Lord: there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought. (Surat an-Nahl (The Bee), 68-69)
Bees usually
have to fly long distances and trace large areas to find food. They collect
flower dust and honey constituent within a range of 800 m. from their hive. The
bee which finds the flowers flies back to the hive to inform others about their
place. But, how will this bee describe the place of the flowers to its friends
in the hive? By dancing!… The bee returning to the hive starts to make some sort
of a dance. This dance is a means of expression used to tell other bees the
location of the flowers. This dance repeated many times by the bee, includes all
the information about the inclination, direction, distance and other details of
the food source that enable other bees to reach it.
This dance is
actually an “8” figure
constantly repeated by the bee. The bee forms the middle part of the figure
“8” by shaking its tail and making zig zags. The angle between the zig zags
and the line between the sun and the hive, gives the exact direction of the food
source (the below picture).

Remarks
:
a) Bassam Jarrar
(Noon center ) noticed that the bee
possess 16
chromosoms and that is the number of
the Sura Annahl.
b) He noticed too
that the word ‘ Bee’ occurs in verse 68 and this verse has 13 words and 68 * 13 = 884 . Then he counted the words from the beginning
of the sura till the word ‘Bee’ in verse 68 and at his surprise there were
exactly 884 words !!!!!
Now what abou t the number
8 ?
We saw in the
article above that the dance of the bee is in the form of an EIGHT and I think that
he has a relation with our sura.
First remark :
The sura ‘The
Bee’ has 128 verses. And if we divide 128 with 8 we get 16 !!!and this is the number
of our sura.( By the way notice that :
8 * 2 = 16 )
Second remark :
If you count the
words of the last verse number 128 we have 8 words !!! and 32 letters(double
of 16).and : 8 * 32 = 256 = 16 * 16
Let’s
multiplicate the last verse (128) with 8 (words) : 128 * 8 = 1024 and √1024 =
32!!! (32 = 16+16 = letters of
this verse)
Note that the number 32 play an important role in the life of the bee.read this article of Harun Yahia :
Regulation of humidity:
Temperature in the hive has to be 32 degrees Celsius for 10 months of the year during the brooding period. Humidity, which principally causes honey to attain its protective quality, must be kept within a certain limit in the hive. If this limit is exceeded, then the honey gets spoiled upon loosing its protective and nutritious qualities. In order to constantly maintain the temperature and humidity in the hive within these exact limits, a special "ventilation group" is appointed just for this important task.
Air conditioning: Bees ventilate the hive to make it cool and produce honey containing the right humidity caliber. The same ventilation system is used to safeguard the hive from smoke and air pollution. During a hot day, it is easy to observe the bees ventilating the hive. The entrance of the hive is full of bees and by clamping on the wooden floor they fan the hive using their wings. In a standard hive, the entering air is forced to leave from the other side. The extra ventilators in the hive also labor for pushing the air to four different directions.
This time another question comes to mind, how do the bees "plan" and "carry out" the operations for the regulation of humidity and air conditioning? These operations need immense "intelligence" and "consciousness". We already know that it is not possible for these animals to possess these abilities. Then, the real source of this intelligence and consciousness must be found.
fourth remark :
Two verses are
talking about the Bee : 68 and 69 .
68+69 = 137.
Let’s look for
the verse
8 and 16 :
|

|
8*16=128 |
13 * 68 =
884 |
32+24+13+68=137=68+69 |
|
| |
We see that this table brings all the
elements of sura Annahl :
128 : total of
verses or last verse
8 : total of the words of this
last verse
32 : total of letters of this last
verse
68 : number of the
verse where occurs the word ‘Bee’
137 : the total of
the sum of the verses where Allah speaks about the bee (68+69)
884 : the total of
the words from the beginning of the
sura till the word Bee or the
product of verse number where occurs the word bee (68) with his words (13)
You can see that
the sum of verse 8 and 16 is 24 . 8+16= 24
Now if make the
sum of the words and letters of verse 16 you have 4 (words) + 20
(letters) = 24
Remark 5 :
I wanted to know
where is the middle of the sura 16. This sura has (if I didn’t made errors ) has
7723 letters. That means that the middle is : 7723 / 2 = 3861.5 .And because
half letter doesn’t exist we take 3861 letters. And you will be surprised to
know tha the letter 3861 ist exactly the last one of the verse 69 (the last verse
that speak about the Bee.)
Remark 6 :
We have
8 time the number
19 : one is the 19 th verse; 6
verses have 19 words and one verse has 19 letters .( 1+6+1=8)
Now whats
about the cells of the bee
?
æóÃóæúÍóì
ÑóÈøõßó Åöáóì ÇáäøóÍúáö Ãóäö ÇÊøóÎöÐöí ãöäó ÇáúÌöÈóÇáö ÈõíõæÊðÇ æóãöäó ÇáÔøóÌóÑö

16-68- And your Lord taught the honey bee
to build its cells in hills, on trees, and in (men’s) habitations;
Bees have been
using the hexagonal structure for the construction of the honeycombs for
millions of years. (There is a bee fossil is found dating 100 million years.) It
is a wonder why they have chosen the hexagonal structure rather than
octagonal, or pentagonal? The answer is given by the mathematicians: “hexagonal
structure is the most suitable geometric form for maximum use of unit area” If
the honeycomb cells were constructed in another form, then there would be areas
left out of use; thus less honey would be stored, and less bees would be able to
benefit from it.
As long as their
depths are the same, a triangle or quadrangle cell would hold the same amount of
honey as a
hexagonal cell. But, among all these
geometric forms, hexagon is the one with the
shortest circumference. Whilst they have the same volume, amount of wax required
for hexagonal cells is less than that required for a triangular or quadrangular
one.
So, the
conclusion is: Hexagonal cell requires
minimum amount of wax for construction while it stores maximum amount of honey.
This result, obtained after many complex geometrical calculations, can surely
not have been calculated by bees themselves. These tiny animals use the hexagon
form innately, just because they are “taught” and inspired so by their Lord.
The hexagonal
design of the cells is practical in many aspects. Cells fit to each other and
they share each other’s walls. This, again, ensures maximum storage with minimum
wax. Although the walls of the cells are rather thin, they are strong enough to
sustain a few times of their own weight.
Besides the
side walls, the same principle of maximum saving is considered also while the
bottom edges are constructed.
Combs are built
as a slice with two lines lying back to back, where the connection point problem
occurs. This problem is solved by constructing the bottom surfaces of cells by
combining three equilateral quadrangles. When three cells are built on one face
of the comb, the bottom surface of one cell on the other face is automatically
constructed.
As the bottom
surface is composed of equilateral quadrangle wax plaques, the depth increases
in these cells, which results in an increase in the volume and thus in the
amount of honey to be stored.
I think that there is
a relation beetween sura Annahl with her hexagonal cell and the next sura, sura
17 ‘ Al Isra’ or’Bani Israil’ wich fortell the end of the second state of
Israel.Soon I will publish something about it.

In
1895, William Radcliffe discovered, after much trial and error, that
nineteen hexagonal pieces numbered from 1 to 19 can be assembled so that
each row of three, four or five hexagons adds up to 38. In 1963, Charles
Trigg proved that it is the only magic hexagon of any
size! | |||

Σ = 38 = 19 * 2
This is a diameter-5 magic
hexagon. Each integer from 1 to 19 appears exactly once, and the sum of the
numbers along any column or diagonal is the same (38 = 19 * 2). It is easy to
prove that 1 and 5 are the only possible magic hexagon diameters, using the
numbers from 1 to the hexagon size. The diameter-1 magic hexagon is trivial, and
the diameter-5 magic hexagon is essentially unique. (There are 12 variations
which arise by rotating and reflecting the hexagon under the action of the
dihedral group of order 12). More about hexagone : http://mathworld.wolfram.com/Hexagon.html
